Sweating with Body By Mags

I've had the personal pleasure of knowing Magdelena for many years now.  She is insightful, graceful, funny and practices gratitude and mindfulness daily.  It was really great to interview her for our Aurenda Life community and introduce you to another amazing tool that can help you to heal your way to health and manifestation in your own lives!
...Thank you so much for doing this with us!
Our readers would love to “get to know you” a bit better. Can you share with us the story about how you first got involved in fitness and wellness?

Twenty years ago, I was a young professional in Washington DC, working my first corporate job. I though that I “made” it, if you know what I mean, but soon I realized that 9-5 office job really was not my thing. I was sneaking out to a nearby Gold’s Gym for yoga and kickboxing classes, and that’s where I felt like I was at home! I was secretly envying the instructors and their drive and lifestyle. Needless to say, I quit that corporate job. I began studying fitness and health and earned several fitness certifications.  First as a personal trainer, then as a group exercise instructor and the beacon of it all - A registered yoga teacher!
Can you tell us about your business? What do you do and how do you do it?

I now have an online, home workout subscription with over 40 on-demand workouts, each of them are just 30 minutes long, and you can do them anywhere, anytime, with little or no equipment.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started your career?

When Covid first hit; my job disappeared into thin air overnight. I was teaching packed yoga and fitness classes and had a full book of private clients. All of a sudden I had nothing…
I would have never in my life imagined anything like that….but right away I realized a need.  All of my students and clients were reaching out to work out with me online. There was a need for an online, high quality, effective fitness instruction.  After few Instagram LIVE classes I realized that I’m really good at this, and I did not want to give my work away for free, so I did the research and started my home workout subscription, a collection of on-demand workouts with a new workout dropping every week….and it totally took off!  I would have never imagined that out of the biggest tragedy in my profession, so many of us have risen to the opportunity to create online subscription.

Can you share with our readers a bit about why you are an authority in the wellness field? In your opinion, what is your unique contribution to the world of wellness?
I know how to seamlessly fuse my experience as a personal trainer, group exercise instructor and a yoga teacher. I create fun, kick-ass workouts that deliver results! It is the perfect combination of the detailed training from a personal trainer with the expert projection and enthusiasm of a great group instructor leading a huge class.  I know how to fuse the music with the workouts. Simultaneously, my classes flow smoothly, because I have been a vinyasa yoga teacher for 10 years and that is all about flow!
I am also a mom of two small kids, so I know that there is a real need for quick, effective workouts. One hour workouts don't work when you are juggling little kids and everything else!  It's all about the full body 30 minute, power workout that leaves you feeling sweaty, invigorated and complete!

In your opinion what are the 3 main blockages that prevent us from taking the information that we know, integrating it into our lives and manifesting what we want?

1.Addiction to numbers, meaning constantly counting and measuring your progress and results.
People are so caught up in the numbers;  how many pounds they lost, how many miles they ran, how many yoga classes they went to this week… I mean seriously who gives a damn? Do you feel good? Are you enjoying life? Are you living in the present moment? Living it to the fullest? That’s the questions we should be asking ourselves.
workout because it makes me feel good, energized, level headed, and it helps me live to my best potential. All the esthetic stuff, like weight loss, muscle tone etc... will come naturally.  Don’t put all your emphasis on that, stop counting all the numbers!!!

2. Lack of ability to practice moderation. Most People either go all in and over exert themselves, or they fall off track and lose sight of their goals.

3. The competitive nature of our society. We are unable to just enjoy the process. There are people who can take an ancient practice as yoga and make it competitive.

So, we are all here on some fantastical journey.  In that journey; of self healing, self discovery and discovering our true purpose;  Can you tell us a little bit about your journey?  Where were you born?  Was there something from your childhood, young adulthood or adulthood that made an impact on the way you live your life?

I was born during Cold War, in communist Czechoslovakia, not the coziest place to grow up, if you know what I mean. But I absolutely cherish my upbringing, my ability to detach from placing too much value on material possessions, and my ability to be present in the moment. We had no car, no TV (I mean we had a little black and white TV, but there was nothing on - seriously! There were only 2 channels and they only ran from 4 pm to 10 pm with communist propaganda. The rest of it was just white noise. SO we grew up taking walks, exploring nature, taking the train to countryside, camping, gardening, cooking at home, never having any pre-made snacks.  It's ironic, all  of the things that are so valued these days by the yoga and wellness society, I had that on a platter as a kid. I still look back and am in awe of how did my parents created such a beautiful childhood out of absolutely nothing, just the ability to be present. It’s priceless.
Do you have a spiritual practice? And what does it look like?
Yoga, meditation, connection to the universe.

Can you tell us what tools you find most helpful for you on your journey?

Being a mother, and purposefully being present when with my kids and intentionally turning my phone off .  These little things are so BIG. They help me to feel grounded and connected to life every day.

Lastly, where can everyone find you?
